To be in the position to have to choose whether or not to take life away is a position only God should be in, not humans. Like you, I just wanted to reach out to Mr Latimer - and the rest of his family - and hold him tight. NO ONE has the right to judge, just as NO ONE can feel HIS pain. Where is compassion in the legal system that has dragged this out for so long? Those of us viewing these cases should not be judging, we should be thanking our lucky stars/God/Allah/Whoever that we are fortunate enough not to be in that position and hoping for the best outcome for those involved.
