Rest and recreation

Even part-time writers need a break for rest and recreation occasionally! So, what fitted the bill for me? A week in Croatia, along the Dalmatian coast.

Sunshine – warmth, deep blue skies, stunning sunsets.

Beauty – crystal clear seas, shady walks, waterfalls.

Krka National Park

Tranquillity – secluded parks, pretty islands, still waters.

History – medieval streets, ancient buildings.

Distraction – exploring, learning about a very different way of life from local guides enthusing about the cities they love.

Amusement!

Switching off – forgetting for a few days the news, current issues, responsibilities.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Oh, and a suspenseful book that leant itself to occasional perusal in spare moments, holding my interest for the week: Along Came a Spider – introducing psychologist/detective Alex Cross.
